DIRECTOR DECISION
Decision: To implement the Household Support Fund Scheme 6 (HSF6) as set out at Annex A of this decision. This power was delegated to the Director of Finance at the Executive Member for Finance, Performance, Major Projects, Human Rights, Equality and Inclusion decision session on the 19th September 2024 (Annex B).

Comments/Observations: This is the 6th Government HSF scheme that covers the period 1st October 2024 to 31st March 2025. The funding is £1.037m the same as the HSF 5 scheme funding 1st April 2024 to 30th September 2024. The scheme detail is set out at Annex A and is inline with the Government scheme guidance (Annex C) in providing support to financially vulnerable families across the city. The HSF6 money will be spent as set out below:
a) £500k – A ‘cash first’ direct payment for working age CTS customers. (approx. £115 per qualifying resident) b) £180k – Discretionary application scheme c) £70k – Food & Fuel Vouchers d) £80k – Advice and support to maximise income and promote take-up of unclaimed benefits e) £40k – Community food support f) £40k – Warm places support g) £60k – Administration including support for two Talk money campaigns. h) £10k – York Energy Advice i) £30 - Policy in practice j) £30K – Contingency
Decision:
To approve the HSF6 Scheme as set out at Annex A and bring back to a future Executive Member Decision Session for ratification.
